Hey sugas, we all know how staying at home for so long could lead to all of us just feeling so off-balanced and thrown off our usual schedules. The three most important parts are our minds, body, and spirit. When these three things are thrown off, it’s so easy to feel sluggish, irritable, and just wacky! The tea is, research has said that sitting inside your home all day leads to things such as overwhelming feelings of isolation, boredom, depression, and anxiety. Your escape from everyday reality could be in your backyard…literally!

Outdoor spaces can soothe your soul & body. It has been said so many times by so many researchers that nature and outdoor living is a therapeutic remedy, suga. Now let me drop some activities that are good for your mind, body, and spirit baby! Things like hiking are great for the mind. There’s nothing like clearing your mind on a nice morning walk. Now what the folks won’t tell y’all is that you don’t need an actual hiking trail or live by some rugged terrain to hike! You can walk through your neighborhood or local park.

Now, not everyone can do some hiking and that’s ok! Yoga and meditation are some simple gestures to start off doing in your own outdoor spaces. Doing some relaxing yoga outside is always a good way to connect the mind, body, and soul. Being outside with so much fresh air and oxygen will make you feel so calm and at peace. Let me tell y’all what my favorite activity is suga. Meditating! Meditating in your outdoor living space is such an amazing feeling. The ability to release all the tension from your body and mind is just as sweet as a slice of pecan pie!

Y’all heard it from this chic first! We get so caught up on work and indoor needs that we forget our own outdoor living space can be our very own sanctuary. My task for you is to start taking 10 to 20 minutes to sit and bask in nature’s presence suga. Go outside and take a few deep breaths today my suga sistas!
